Members of the Shasta Koi and Water Garden Club have graduated from the Koi Health Advisor (KHA) course sponsored by the Associated Koi Clubs of America. They are available to assist members with sick and injured koi. They are not trained as Veterinarians or Vet Assistants. Their training is focused on the pond enviroment along with how to treat for parasite infestations, first aid for wounds, and when to seek the help of a veterinarian. If the Koi keeper takes care of the water, the water will take care of the Koi.
Our KHA is Steve Eckard 223-0784
If you need help with your pond or fish please feel free to contact either of the KHA's. Before contacting them take the time to print and complete the KHS Information Sheet. The more information you provide, the better and faster we can be of assistance. This same information can be part of a pond log. Over time, this history will show any trends in water quality or fish health problems. This is valuable information in maintaining a healthy koi pond.
